Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani, while introducing the role of this agriculturally favorable decision, said that the widespread impact of the hurricane has affected Girsomnath, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Botad in five districts as well as Navsari, Surat, Valsad and Bharuch districts of South Gujarat. Extensive damage has been done to agricultural and horticultural crops in an area of one lakh hectares.

A subsidy of Rs 1 lakh per hectare has been announced for horticultural crops. This assistance will be paid up to a limit of two hectares.
Against the damage caused to crops, houses, livestock as well as electricity, water-supply, roads, etc. by this hurricane in Gujarat, the entire administration of the state government conducted survey-restoration etc. on a war footing in a very short period of time like never before in the state. The Chief Minister added that the operation has achieved unprecedented speed.
Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani said that in order to help the farmers of the state to recover quickly from the extensive damage caused to horticultural crops, issues including production loss assistance to summer irrigated crops, loss relief due to fall of fruit trees in horticultural crops were covered in this generous hurricane relief package.
